Weeks Nelson traces its roots to the leadership of Gregg Weeks, a legend to friends, clients, and even opposing counsels with his wit and charm. Gregg’s legal journey began with a childhood friendship with Jim Jannard, a bond that has endured through decades of collaboration and mutual respect, including Jim founding Oakley and later Red Digital Cinema. Gregg treated clients like Jim – a friend that you loyally protect and help succeed, whether in negotiations or litigation.
These basic principles form the foundation of our culture. Don’t treat clients as a fee but rather like family. Understand who they are, give them prompt attention and practical solutions, not more problems. And vigilantly protect them.
In 1999, Greg Nelson joined the firm, adding depth to the bench with his background in intellectual property. Chandler Weeks, inspired by his father’s legacy, joined the firm in 2007, mirroring his dad’s tenacity and dedication. Greg Suhr joined the firm in 2023, bringing added sophistication and the keen ability to cut to the heart of a matter. Greg is a dynamic and skilled commercial litigator with substantial experience handling contract, trademark, and business tort disputes. Before joining the firm, he worked at two prominent law firms, where he honed his ability to manage high-stakes litigation.
In addition to his litigation work, Greg serves as outside general counsel for several companies, advising on compliance matters, drafting and reviewing contracts, and resolving pre-litigation disputes.
Additionally, Greg has developed a niche plaintiff-side housing class action practice. He is passionate about representing tenants in actions against unscrupulous landlords, ensuring that their rights are protected and justice is served. His commitment to fighting for fairness and equity underscores his dedication to making a tangible difference in the lives of his clients.
Outside of the office, Greg values a balanced lifestyle – he enjoys spending quality time with his wife and two dogs, and he is an avid kickboxer and Golden State Warriors fan.
